Check out this video for Rovio, a wireless robot that lets you remotely explore and interact somewhere else. I stumbled on one of these at the Mall this weekend.

I’ve been waiting for this same type of product from iRobot, the makers of the fantastic vacuum cleaning robot Roomba, for quite a while. It looks like these folks beat them to the punch and it looks great. I’d love to be able to log in from work or while away to check on the kids.

After making this post, I didn’t like how much of the webpage it took up given the respect that Erin’s post should have. I’ve remove it for now and repost sometime later. The election is a long way out and the post should wait.

EDIT: Erin’s aunt and sister met her in Macon. She stopped calling with hourly updates so I stopped updating the map. I bet I was the only person tracking her progress anyways

Erin’s grandmother is sick so she is traveling to go see her. She didn’t want to be constrained by my work schedule so she left me at home. She brought both girls with her. She has a (probably) 10 hour drive ahead of her.

She just left (its 5AM). She is going to call every hour and give me new GPS coordinates. I’m making a map of her progress:
