New Feature

February 21st, 2006

Our blog now lets you subscribe to specific notifications by category. For instance, all of you who don’t care about stuff in the “Tech Stuff” category can sign up to receive notifications about posts in the other categories, but not “Tech Stuff.” To do this, just click the “Unsubscribe” link in one of the notification emails and then re-subscribe. This time, when you do, it will ask you to select the categories you want to subscribe to. Just press <CTRL> as you click to select more than one category!

New Video Method

January 19th, 2006

I am trying yet another video method to find the best way to share videos with you guys. This time I am using a brand new DIVX browser plugin that should automatically work for all Windows and Mac users. Linux users will still be able to see it if they are using the mplayerplug-in. It may pop up a window asking you if it is ok to install the Divx plugin. Say yes. You will only have to do that once.

Please comment and say whether it works for you and what operating system you use.

December 27th, 2005

We reorganized our photos, so things might not be exactly where you expect them to be the next time you look through our photo gallery, but its more user-friendly now, so hopefully it’ll take our visitors less time to figure out where things are!

Video Blog Sample

October 20th, 2005

Well, for an upcoming project, Erin and I got some new equipment. I’m doing a quick test to see all of the pieces come together. Let me know what you think of the quality. I’m trying to get above the “home video” sound and look without having to get expensive equipment! Also, I haven’t paid for the software yet which is why there is a “Main Actor 5.5″ overlay on the video.

16:9 home videos

July 2nd, 2005

We are testing making our home videos available in 16:9 aspect (widescreen). That way when TV’s haven’t been standard aspect for all of Tru’s life she will be able to watch them in a format better for the TV’s of the future.

Please play our video and let us know if it looks correct (not squashed) for you! It should look wide like the picture to the right of this text, not like the other pictures below.

Genealogy

September 12th, 2004

I have been obsessed with our families for the past year, but in the process I have constructed quite an impressive and unbelievable genealogy, including 10,168 of both of our closest ancestors. ;-) I even have both our families traced back to Adam, however accurate that information might be! We also discovered that Mike and I are 31st cousins! Check it out here. *Warning* This is in the test stages! Its not pretty yet! Its also password protected right now. Email us if you want to see it and we’ll send you a password!
